Rough terrain scissor lifts (diesel powered) are used where less reach and height, but more workspace and lifting capacity, are required. Rough terrain scissor lifts may be manoeuvred in a manner similar to boom lifts, but the platform may be raised only vertically, except for the deck extension that allows horizontal reach of up to 1.23 m. Models fitted with four wheel drive and oscillating axle allow travel over rough terrain conditions, for example mud, snow or wet ground and provide a larger platform work area to allow for heavier, bigger loads than boom lifts.
